We are designers and makers.
For work or play, creating stuff that looks good and functions well is what we love. We have converted a schoolbus to a housebus and now work and live in it with our two little sons.
We have also published the DIY/Craft magazine World Sweet World in the past.
Hannah Schickedanz Over the last ten years I have worked for design and advertising agencies on projects varying from corporate identities to annual reports to advertising.
I really enjoy a mix of typography, illustration, copywriting layout and brand design.
Bringing all these skills together, Thomas and I published World Sweet World Magazine from the front room of our Wellington home. Half book, half magazine, it consisted of simply illustrated, step-by-step instructions for making all sorts of things, from small craft projects to a sofa made from old doors, followed by feature articles about people, places, and sustainable living. We loved it, and so did our devoted following (have a look at the comments here to get an idea of what I mean).
Thomas Schickedanz I have worked in the web industry for 14 years and have a wide range of web and multimedia skills, including design and development of web sites and web applications, flash programming, and CMS integration.
I have gained market experience at web agencies and startups in Germany and New Zealand, working on a variety of commercial projects. Sites were mainly created with the Thrive, SilverStripe and WordPress CMS. I was the fronted designer for mobile app startup voeveo and social music startup MusicHype, which were both based on the SilverStripe CMS. I also worked as an interface designer for the german website builder called Jimdo.
I am passionate about interface design. For me, developing efficient and self-explanatory user interfaces is the key to creating successful web sites.
